My parents have been vacationing on St. George Island for the past three years. They love it, and I and my family have made it over for at least a couple of days each trip. We all enjoy it very much. However, they have been forking out the money for each of these trips, and are considering something on the mainland to try to save some money. I know it's a shot in the dark, but if anyone can point me in the direction of any good or interline discounts in the area, I would be very appreciative. Thx for any info.

There are not many hotels in the area.....yet. Most of the Apalachicola bed and breakfasts have off season discounts. The few area hotels run discounts. I will check around and see if I can dig up a discount or deal. When would you be visiting the scenic Northwestern Flordia coast?

That makes it sound good to me. I might have to check it out. The kids are old enough to camp now so I was thinking of maybe heading to a State park around there if the family trys camping and likes it.

Chris, I highly recommend the area. As was stated, there are very few hotels around. We always rent a house on the beach on St. George Island. Not recommended for the tight budget. However, it is a very beautiful area. There is a state park nearby (Cape San Blas). I have not been there, but have heard it is nice. One recommendation though is to make sure you have everything you need before getting there. This is due to the fact that the closest Walmart, Kmart, anything-mart is about 70 miles away. Just a little insider information there. Anyway, it is a very nice area for adults and children. My two year old loved it last year. Good luck. Dave

    Dave,
I am still working on places. We will be in Tallahassee this next week and will look up the locals beach specials.
Since you are in the Biloxi/Gulfport MS area, would you keep us up on the discounts in your area. We get over there every few months and would appreciate any inside scoop.
