Boston is expensive. I know the DAYS INN in Saugus the gentleman was referring to. At the time I went there during OCTOBER, it was 140 bucks per night. This was back in 1998. Why so high? FOILAGE SEASON, plus a couple of other events. I had just gotten there from a long treck while living on Saipan, and didn't want to bother the old man, whom comes from there, which is why I got a hotel room for some good rest before I contacted him. Be sure to call way in advance and remember, October is a rough time there. Lots of folks want to use BOSTON as a takeoff point into the rest of New England during the leaf season.
