Does anyone know if there is a place that you can ask airline empolyees (bulletin boad, intranet, internet) if they have unused buddy passes that they are willing to share?

Someone asked this not long ago and it should be known that there are no such sites and I doubt there will ever be such sites. Someone could lose their flying benefits and worst their job if the company ever finds out. Strangers WILL never give their buddy passes away.

AS has a rule for our guest passes that the employee is not allowed to give the pass to a stranger. Doing so will be cause for disciplinary action and possible termination. The reason such sites do not exist is that they provide the company with verifiable information that an employee is violating the rules. Who wants to risk that?

I am sure people who are looking for buddy passes or companion travel privileges can post on sites and give their contact information, where as the airline employee need not contact them back on the site, but via phone or email. I wonder if the vigilance departments of various airlines would conduct sting operations on such happenings

Some airlines do check for such things because it constitutes an abuse of employee benefits and more importantly to the airline, a loss of revenue to the industry. Some might say well if not for the passes I wouldn't travel but the industry sees it as the loss of revenue equal to the difference between the pass charge and a paid ticket.

We could just delete such solicitations and even ban or limit the users but it looks to me like our community can police itself. Good responses!
