    Hi There,

We are flying in from Sydney to Lax and then we need to get across country to Charleston.

Delta seems the best possiblity via Atlanta however we are just wondering if there is anything we can do (besides purchasing confirmed seats) that will make the trip easier??

The flights are early morning midweek so would it be safe to assume that the loadings will be fine.

    Thanks in advance.

First of all are you going to Charleston West Virginia or Charleston South Carolina? My airline, USAirways serves either one from LAX through either CLT or PHL. Since I work out of Charleston SC I will try help if that is the city of your choice. If you are heading to CHS you would have back-up cities of MYR, HHH and SAV all less then 2 hours away. I would also be able to get information on CRW as I have contacts there.

Be careful with Delta, they have cut service to many of their smaller cities while in Bankruptcy. The flights are often full even on weekdays.

You may wish to go with the carrier in which your airline has an alliance. We get a better deal with the Star Alliance then airlines not in our group.

We are looking at getting to Charelston SC (CHS) from LAX after landing from Qantas 149 Feb 1st at 6am.

US has two flights that meet your needs, and at this time both have seats. The first departs LAX at 720am connecting through CLT arriving CHS at 506pm. The second departs LAX at 900am also conn through CLT to arr CHS at 717pm.
I will try to remember to check again closer to your arrival date.

If Catz is getting in at 6, with immigration, baggage, customs, I'm not sure he'll have enough time to make a 7:20 flight. Plus US is over in T1 with WN, and sometimes the security lines can be quite l-o-n-g. If you have a choice, I'd suggest the 9, you'll have time to take a leisurely walk (there's also a shuttle you catch on the lower-arrival level) over to T1, get a cup of coffee and relax between flights... breathe some of that nice L.A. air.

    Thanks for the advice.

We have gone ahead and purchased open coupons for US Airways via Charlotte and United via IAD.

From viewing Flyzed the loadings are looking good for US Airways (hoping it stays that way).

We are hoping to make the 7.20am flight if our flight happens to get in early (fairly common) and can get an easy run through immigration.
We have upgradable to first status to LAX which will help with retreival of luggage and hitting immigration ahead of the rest of the PAX.

If we dont it is no biggie.

I will check your flights again before the weekend. I would also try for the 7:20. PM me if you wish me to list you on the flights. If you get in at 5pm ask for me, I may still be around work.
