I am going to Maui in May. I am staying at the Whaler hotel for $180 per night. This is the employee rate. There regular rate $240 per night. The Whaler hotel is part of the ResortQuest hotel chains. The Whaler propery is Resortquest's higher end hotel. Since I am going for my birthday, I am willing to spend $180. I am usually more frugal and you can get room for about $120 or less. There website is www.resortquesthawaii.com they have different properties to choose from. You will need to call them and ask them for airline emp. rate. Also I have stayed at the Ohana hotel (www.ohanahotels.com) or Outrigger (www.outrigger.com) on the other islands and always ask for airlines rates. I have always found these hotels are pretty descent. No there not the Ritz or the Hilton but they are confortable place to stay and relax. Also if you ever book a resort and want unbiased reviews from guest who have stayed on the property. Check out www.tripadvisor.com and type your location and resort. I read the reviews on the Whaler and most of them seemed pretty favorable so that's how I decided to go with that property.
