    I just returned from a trip to Chicago and while Randy (Chicago correspondent) is great about listing Chicago's "major" events, he overlooks the daily happenings around the city. So here is a list of my eveyday Chicago highlights-- June 2006.
    <UL TYPE=SQUARE>
    1. All of Chicago is under construction--lane closures, barricades, orange cones, crash cushions, and K-rails are everywhere. Chicago is one big construction zone. I can personally attest that vast sections of the Dan Ryan , all of 294 (both north & south) and the upper level (departures) at O'Hare are particularly difficult to navigate, if not for a loose interpretation of "NO U TURN", we'd still be driving the streets of Chicago.

    2. Brookfield Zoo--Sure Randy mentioned the King Tut exhibit at the Field Museum, but not a word about the butterfly exhibit (with more than 40 species of butterflies) going on now through mid-Sept at Brookfeld Zoo.
    No, not one mention of these beautiful creatures, could that unfortunate caterpillar incident still haunt young Randy... I wonder.

    3. White Sox night game-- Lots of fun and great peanuts.

    4. Worldwide Knit day--Sure Randy reported news of the annual Blues Festival, but never mentioned 'World Wide Knit in Public Day', was also taking place in nearby Millennium Park. I'm telling you it was pure luck that our route took us pass the ladies and their yarn. Maybe next year Randy will include 'Knit Day' in his list of Chicago events, as not eveyone can count on a lucky stroll

    5. Garrett popcorn-- A great place for a snack while shopping the Magnificent Mile (670 N. Michigan). The lines are long so there is a wait, but the popcorn is great. *Hmmm long lines* Maybe that's why Randy never mentions Garrett's, his way of eliminating the competition.
    Hey Randy--The Secret is Out!!!!! <a href="http://www.garrettpopcorn.com/" target="_blank">http://www.garrettpopcorn.com/</A>

    6. Giordano's Pizza, Went there twice, brought one home, just great pizza. [/list]

    Well that's my list, I had a great time in Chicago, and Randy thanks for all the info.

    Edited to add vital stuff
