So I did it!!!! My first non rev flight!!!

Monday, 2AM, shower and off to bed after work.

5 AM, off to park at work and hoping I catch the 7AM flight to MSP.

    6:45 - board flight- I made it!

8:30 - flight takes off at last - the ONE contingency I hadn't thought of - Broken airplane!! Oops - this means I'll miss my connection! *worried*

2:00PM - Arrive MSP - realize that the best/only option is to to fly into LGA instead.

7:00 PM - Arrive in NYC to happy reunion with my dearest friend.

11:00 PM - After lovely dinner and drinks at my other home, a nice warm bed and a great night's sleep.

    ****

    Tuesday:

9:00 AM, Breakfast, lovely conversation and the reading of a draft of my friend's play (oh it's a corker!)

11:00 AM - off to the Mall and to ride PTC 15!

12 Noon - Lunch in my favorite Greek restaurant in Terrytown, and like bringing coal to Newcastle, some fresh roasted Coffee for my gracious hostess and some for home.

1:00pm - A wander around the Old Dutch Church yard and some cool graves.

3:00PM - Coffee and a slice of real NY cheesecake - granted it has a brownie attached but what the hell.

4:00PM - Hop the plane at HPN (got on without a problem) and a nice little hop back to MSP.

7:00PM - MSP - a bit of Mid-West Pizza for dinner (not a good idea before a flight - too much salt!)

9:45PM - All is well, there's room on the Flight home - finally a bit pooped.

11:30PM Arrive in Seattle, wander back to my car which is safely waiting for me in the parking lot - feels like I just got off work.

Midnight, pull into my parking space to be greeted by my girls - and now, 40 some odd hours later, it's time for bed... back to work in 15 hours!

Hmmmm - maybe Memphis next time!

Uh-huh, maintenance and weather gremlins, the banes of travel

Hmmm, "a wander around .....some cool graves" .... interesting hobby you got there Horsefeathers.

A quick coast-to coast trip, not a bad way to test out those wings, well done Horsefeathers. *thumbs up*

Hey, I live on the left coast where 'old' = 1890 ( I know, in Europe that's not even out of childhood!) - we went to the Old Dutch Church in Sleepy Hollow, so I got to see the Burial place of Washington Irving, and people who fought in the American Revolutionary war - pretty cool really.

I'm thinking of Memphis next time - nosey at the outside of Graceland just for laughs...

I know what you mean, here in L.A. we give historic status to buildings from the 1970's.

    Edited to add
Interesting avatar you got there Horsefeathers, very thought provoking.

I love the book "Jumper" (about a young man who can teleport) the movie is comming out in February - conveniently when I'll be fully off probation and have even more options open to me to 'Jump' with other airlines and able to switch shifts - I'm hoping I'll be able to 'Jump' to the premier in NYC...

    Old Dutch Church....COOL
    The MALL....NOT COOL (I'm a dude.)

VISITING GRAVES???? UN COOL. Or just plain WIERD!

3 out of 5 aint a bad start. May I recommend tickets to a hockey game next time you visit out of town? I wanted tickets in Ottawa to see the Senateurs play, but I missed them by a couple of days.

That's awesome that your first trip went well. I remember how nervous I was my first time.

It's probably a little difficult being on the west coast being how long flights are out there.
