    Hello All,

I was wondering what everyone thinks on trying to non-rev to HNL from MSP on NorthWest around Memorial Day. My specific dates are departing on either the 23rd or 24th of May and trying to get back on the 30th or 31st (both Fridays and Saturdays). There is only one flight a day from MSP to HNL but I believe these dates are out of the peak season for Hawaii. So what does everyone think? Buy a ticket or try and non-rev?

    Thanks!

The nonstop flight MSP-HNL is always very full, but nonrevs do get on. Look up possible options via the West Coast. Another popular option is to go to SEA and overnight, taking the first SEA-HNL morning flight to HNL, which is too early for connections to it. Good luck! I've gone through NRT to get to HNL!

Lets see, you want to non-rev to HNL around the Memorial Day holiday, on the week-end and there's only one flight a day; and your question is --- what do I think?
Well, I think you are destined to sleep in the airport.
Of course there's always the chance (be it ever so slight) that someone will get lost in the terminal, miss a connection or get caught on the wrong side of security when they run out of bins , so if you're feeling extremely lucky you might attempt it (like Tim suggested) from out here on the west coast. (LA has more carriers, more flights)One caveat, if you attempt this, I'd stongly advice you to at least buy a refundable/exchangable ticket for the trip back. Trust me, HNL got it's reputation as a non-rev black hole the old fashion way --- it earned it.
