Ok... food. Cheap food. Perhaps some cheap drinks of the alcoholic variety to walk around with. What's good? I remember some good deals at Circus Circus (giant hot dogs, shrimp cocktail, or amazing strawberry shortcake for a couple bucks each) and I think there were some decent things downtown (deep fried twinkies.... mmmmm). There's gotta be more (or more specific) than that, though. Any ideas, especially downtown?

    Tasty deals (Strip)
Buffet of Buffets, one of the best deals in Vegas - Buffet of Buffets FAQ's

Carnegie Deli at the Mirage (one of my favorites) - gargantuan sandwiches, big enough to share. (there is a $3 sharing charge)
Prices range $10-$25, which I’ll admit is a little steep for a sandwich, but it’s a real-ly good sandwich . I recommend the Bacon Whoopee ( chicken salad with bacon) and the corned beef.

Pink’s at Planet Hollywood, best hot dogs in Vegas - great chili dogs.

Lastly there’s always In-N-Out for burgers

    Cheap eats & drinks
    Downtown (Old Vegas)
Golden Gate- Shrimp Bar & Deli- famous for it’s $1.99 shrimp cocktail.
    Binion’s
-Café- I rate the food as “pretty good”.
-Ranch steakhouse - Ok dining, but the view of the city at night, now that’s great.
    - good daily specials

    (Strip)
    Slots-a-Fun
Cheap hot dogs, pizza and beer. I haven’t gone here in years, but if what you want is cheap (no comment on quality) this is your place

Last but not least- Most if not all the casinos give players free drinks while they gamble. (personally I always order water ) *wink*

    Edited to add--
Almost forgot Fat Tuesday's at the Forum shops-Caesar's/ Mandalay Bay/Planet Hollywood/- famous for their yard long drinks, good deal and you can add an extra shot for a $1.

Sounds great, thanks! With the snow we had today, this trip couldn't come soon enough. All of our flights were cancelled at work today, and in nearby MSP the whole airport was closed down for a while (DL canceled all flights for the day, despite predictions that the airport would reopen midafternoon).

    View outside my apartment:

I could use a trip to LAS too. Sitting in a Holiday Inn, next to the heater, watching the snow whip around near LSE. Luckily I don't have to venture outside today, or tomorrow for that matter. Have fun on the ramp tomorrow, put on those deicin' boots!
