Default Fly In Ski Free - On Day of Arrival

Anybody has more info or experience on the 'Fly In and Ski Free' deals at some ski resorts. I have been doing some research and found that you get a free lift ticket on day of arrival at any of Utah's Park City resorts. But those resorts have restrictions and this promotion is not currently valid but only after 3/27. Vail/Beaver Creek in Colorado also has a similar promotion. I was just wondering if anybody had tried any of these and what have their experiences been. Please share.

PS: I posted this in the old forum but for some reason, it didn't appear in the new version. Sorry if this happens to be a repost.

Oh, heck yeah I use it. Go to ParkCity.com - Park City, Utah - Ski Free in Park City to register. It's only good for the Park City resorts (Park City, The Canyons, Deer Valley). Just as you said about the dates, it's not for peak season, as valid dates for the Quick Start program are from the respective resort opening day - 12/24/09, 1/3/10 - 2/12/10, and 3/28/10 until the respective resort closing day 2010. On Delta, when boarding the aircraft, non-revvers usually exchange our seat request for small seat assignment paper with the gate agent. I try to get to the gate a little early and explain to the agent that I'd like a full sized boarding pass if I make the flight. Once you get to Park City, you go to the resort ticket booth and give them the full-sized boarding pass and the printed copy of your Quick Start approval. You then ski for free. I usually try to make a day trip out of it and return home later in the evening. So to maximize slope time, I reserve the rental car ahead of time so I can skip the counter and have my printouts in pocket. SLC has body scanners. So bring regular pants. Going through the body scanner with multi-pocketed ski pants is a pain.

What's the link for the Vail/Beaver Creek promotion and can theirs be used in peak season? Hope so, b/c I was thinking of hitting the board this weekend. If I can do it on the cheap, you'd make me a happy man.

Check this link for Vail. It says BP + confirmed Vail Valley lodging.

    Airport Information - Flight Deals | Vail.com

I wonder how expensive the lodging in the Vail Valley is. I am just a novice snow boarder and very much on a budget.

Just looked up the lodging. Well, there are no Motel6s in Vail, unfortunately. You and I are in the same boat friend, as I try to do things on the cheap too and I'm a far better skier than boarder (and my skiing's not great). I did go to Vail last year and got bumped off a flight coming back. I fortunately made the next flight, but it's a scary place to be stuck due to the pricey lodging there. The agent told me that the non-rev seat availability online can be a little deceptive. Since so many people going to Vail are carrying skis/boards, the extra weight can sometimes take a seat away, again so I was told.

I probably won't hit a mountain this weekend. Your message got me excited, but I've since calmed down and remembered that I'm actually sick. Let us know how this goes, if and when you go. There are not enough Delta flights out of EGE for me to do this as a very cheap and convenient day trip.

I will also hold off my new-born excitement and try Park City towards the end of March.
