Yeah, shouldn't be too bad. I took a ZED OGG-HNL when all the mainland-HNL flights were full, no problem. Then my parents were staying at JHM (West Maui) and wanted to visit some relatives in HNL a while back. This was when I was with SkyWest, and we had some pretty decent deals with them (I think $25 per sgement, like what you've got). Ordering the tickets through the travel center was a little more of a pain, just because it had to be mailed by the ETC, but otherwise the travel itself was very smooth.
When you arrive into HNL, ask some of the employees for the airlines you're thinking of. They all know of the notoriously bad cities or times to travel, since they work it week in and week out.
