I definately, want to kick around Joshua Tree National Monument. Not any crazy overnight hiking or anything like that, but to at least check out some of the boulders and capture some great views. I haven't checked out where to stay in Vegas yet, but we have stayed at the Golden Nugget last couple of visits, but not definately set on the GN this time. I'm looking for an easy place to park and drop off the rental. When do the prices in Vegas start to come down after the New Year weekend?
The prices come down after CES Show .. So after the 10th. The Greyhound idea is kinda cool. A one way rental is great too, maybe $75 PSP to LAS airport to airport drop. There is a shuttle that will take you back to LAS after the rental drop and you can jump on the #108 or #109 bus(lower level LAS) to the strip.
