This first riddle (actually it's a short quiz) has nothing to do with aviation but will test your critical things skills.
HINT: The questions aren't that difficult, don't over think.
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, close the door.
This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

2 How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant and close the door? Wrong answer
Correct answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door.
This tests your abilty to think through the repercussions of your previous actions

3. The Lion King is host an animal conference All the animals attend except one. Which animal does not attend?

Correct answer: The elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. You just put him in there, remember?
This tests your memory.

Ok, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

4. There is a river you must cross but it is inhabited by crocodiles. How do you manage it?

Correct answer: You swim across. All the crocodiles are attending the animal meeting (except the elephant, he's still in the refrigerator)
This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.
So what does it all mean? Well, if you didn't answer any of the questions right relax; you're normnal, 90% of the people taking the test didn't get any correct. However if any of your answers involved a chain saw and plastic bags, you definitely need a vaccation, preferably in a place far far away from Los Angeles.

Aviation riddles- again don't over think.
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>

a- impossible to find out from the information given
b- 99 years old
c- only you know the answer

4 Airplane A leaves from BOS to JFK. An hour later, airplane B, leaves JFK to BOS. The two planes are flying a direct route and going at exactly the same speed. Which airplane will be nearer to BOS when they meet?

b- airplane B
c- none of the above

5 You are in a horse stable and asked to demonstrate a sonic boom with the objects in the stable (It could happen ) You tell him not only are you going to show him a sonic boom, but will in fact create a sonic boom. Can you do it?
a- it could be done
b- it cannot be done: the only way to create a sonic boom is to go faster than the speed of sound, and nothing in the stable goes anywhere near that speed
c- the vacuum cleaner used in stables is referred to as a sonic boom.
Ok, lets see some answers
The aviation riddle quiz is closed. See following posts for solutions.

Coyne, Luv2fly, nice try; however you need a perfect score to receive an Off Topic Helmet and Goggles (O.T.H.G.) award.
The game is still in play.

Congratulations Coyne you solved 4 out of 5 riddles correctly and posted first. Sorry Luv2fly, but just like when you nonrev, timing is everything.
Unfortunatley Coyne I am unable to present you with the 'Off Topic Helmet and Goggles' award as you needed a perfect score. However in recognition of your astonishing breadth of aviation knowledge I present you with the 'Almost Off Topic Helmet and Goggles' award.
As an almost .O.T.H.G. award winner, you may now conclude all your 'Off Topic' posts with the signature line- almost O.T.H.G. winner.
Again congratulations

Quiz solutions
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
1. C neither will hit the ground, they will hit water

2. C space shuttle

3. C only you know answer, since you are flying the plane

4. C none of the above, -When they meet? Obviously the distance will be exactly the same when they meet.

5. A It could be done. Take a whip (there's one in all stables) and whip the air. You would instantly create a sonic boom. The sound you hear of the whip is actually a sonic boom. A rifle bullet also produces a sonic boom.
Now a math trick so unbelievable it will stump you.
(Especailly Coyne and Luv2fly who actually think you would keep a sonic boom vacuum cleaner around horses. )

More riddles

The following are logic riddles they don't rely on tricks or jokes for the solution.
Have fun

Three men (nonrevs) go to spend the night at a hotel. They pay for a $30 room, each giving $10 for their share. When they go to their room, the manager realizes that he forgot to give the men the airline rate of $25, so he gives $5 to the bellman to return to the men. The bellman goes to give back the $5 and when he does, the men take it, but give the bellmen $2 as a tip, thereby keeping $1 each for themselves. However, one of the men (we'll call him Al ) is distrurbed remarking. "Hey, we each spent $9 dollars for the room, since we got a $1 back, which totals $27 right? Plus the $2 we gave the bellman, that's only $29! Where's the extra dollar???"
Can you solve the riddle for Al?

There are three light bulbs in a room, and three light switches outside the room. You are outside and want to match which switch goes with which light bulb. You can only travel into the room once, and cannot come back in again. You can do anything you want upon entering the room. How can you set the situation so that you will know which switch goes with which light bulb?

Ok, lets see some solutions

No April Fool's joke Al, I just forgot the disclaimer: Those using phone numbers from outside the U.S. must adjust for date, time & continental differences. In other words, the trick only works with U.S. phone numbers.
