This quiz tests your knowledge of movies with aviation themes. I'll give you a short synopsis or a movie line and you have to figure out the movie. Most of the movies are "classics", however I did include a few "fun" movies, to keep you on your toes.
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>
1. *cue Danger Zone* "I feel the need...the need for speed"
2. "I told you there would be no difficulty in building this airplane. I also told you it would require an outstanding pilot to fly it. The only thing outstanding about you, Mr. Towns, is your stupidity."
3. "Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes."
4. "Let's look at this thing from a ...um, from a standpoint of status. What do we have on the spacecraft that's good?"
5. "I see: the scientists do the thinking for the world, and the rest of us just live in it, is that right?" "Yes!"
Ok, I'll give you a little help with this one, a very short synopsis- an aeronautical engineer predicts that a new model of plane will fail catastrophically after a specific number of flying hours.
6. This movie deals with a German pilot in WW1 who ruthlessly pursues a coveted medal.
7. In this sequel a 747 crashes into the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. Fortunately the planes submerses intact and has enough emergency power to give pax and crew ample time to search for a way out...their solution...attaching balloons to the undercarriage and floating the plane to the surface; fantastic, yes, but that's nothing compared to seeing the Coronado Islands in the background during the rescue. Interesting enough, I couldn't find any memorable lines from this movie.
8. "Let me put it this way, Mr. Amor. The 9000 series is the most reliable computer ever made. No 9000 computer has ever made a mistake or distorted information. We are all, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of
error."
9. "GET OFF MY PLANE!"
10. "Gort! Klaatu barada nikto!"[/list]
