Jumper, tell me all you can, please

So, for NW, free domestic coach, and international coach is free but you pay international taxes? $40 bucks for FC, is that per segment? per flight day? per trip? Does international F cost more? Are there seperate lists for Y and F? What if you list for Y and the only seat left is F, must you still pay, would you even have the chance or does the seat go empty??

*Edit*

and parents/non-dependents pay yield fare. You get the same benefits on all connection carriers, with a lower boarding priority than employees of said connection carrier.

Thanks.[/b]
Yes, we get free unlimited travel in coach domestically, and pay a nominal fee for DFC per segment - I *think* it's around 40$ odd - it's pulled from your paycheque. International, you pay the taxes regardless of whether you're in coach or World Business Class.

Only from experience do I know that if first is available, you will be offered it at the gate and it will come out of your cheque later - I've never been on a flight where there has only been room in FC.

We are limited to NW, Mesaba, and Pinnacle for our freebies.

Companions pay a percentage fare (Is this a 'Yield fare?) and unmarried employees can designate a registered Travel companion who has the same spousal travel privileges, and other than the registered Travel Comp, are allotted 8 RT travel passes a year for "Buddies" .

Seniority -

And god I can't WAIT until we start sharing pass privileges - what a relief it will be not to have to plan almost everything out of 'Via the midwest' I'm really ready to see someplace other than MSP at 5am....

Yield fare is based on mileage. I forget the actual numbers, but its roughly a buck every 10 miles. Yield fare is paid by buddy passes(slightly (<10%) higher yield fare), nondependents, and travel companions. Travel companion is only for unmarried employee, they recieve the same privileges as employee with same boarding priority, but must pay yield fare. Parents get privs, but the extent depends if you're married/elect companion or not.

We can fly any DL CONX carrier on a DL CONX flight. I.E. Skywest dba DL CONX from SLC-ASE, but cannot fly skywest dba UAX from DEN-ASE. Same airline in Skywest, but not operating as DL CONX.

I have seen flights that are oversold in coach, but have a few seats up front. I suppose I would pony up for the very last seat on the plane, but the only other way I would pay 40 bucks for domestic first would be if I had 8 beverages enroute.

Does the price for F vary with mileage? Does a 9 hour TATL flight cost the same 40 bucks as a quick hop from DTW to CLE or CVG?

And in line with Mig, you board by straight seniority, or by check-in time?

Thanks, hopefully we'll be on eachothers metal ASAP.

Well, you beat me too it. I started typing, then started watching Seinfeld, then finished, and got beaten.

Maybe we'll pass in ATL sometime. Do you recall if in DTW the DC9's still do powerbacks? I'd love to try one of those before they take their one way trip to the SOUTHwest in a little while.

Oh Sorry guys! I thought I'd addressed the boarding thing straight off the bat!

Yes, you board by seniority (hire date) - active employees and their travel companions (same seniority as employee), retirees next, OA's bringing up tail.

FC is charged by leg.

Just as a clarification with DL........if your pass priority and seniority will hold it, you would get boarded in FC (if available) regardless of how many seats are available in coach.
