    Default Do you budget?

Interesting new tool USAA came out with. It's called money manager, where you can use this tool to check how you are spending money, where your money is going ect.....Don't know if I need to know all that, however, may be a good way to see what's going where. Apparantly you can add non-usaa accounts too.

Boss budgets and watches it all like a hawk. I know my expenditures are pretty steady and I keep a travel account w/$ from parents' estate. We're on a special mortgage pay down program--it gets financed by his paycheck and is paid everyday.
We're only 5yrs from his early retirement, so it's important with college, child support, medical for me, to be on it like a dog on a sock. USAA has some great programs.
I think my new car will be USAA discount--my 1995 Mitsubishi w/180K miles is getting really cranky.

I've contemplated using the USAA car buying program whenever I get in the market for a car. Sounds like quite a good deal there.

I thought about doing the budget thing, however, I'm afraid my entertainment expenses will flip me out. So I don't wanna look.

I am ruthless each month, I use a template from Home | MoneySmart

I find it strange that banking, finance and budgeting were never taught in school. Well not when I was there at least... it really is a life skill, right?

Unfortunately I am better at "paying back" than saving.. sigh

I am such a nerd that when I was in grade school we were asked to do a demonstration for a class, I showed how to write a check. I think I was 12 or so...It was very informative and I got an A.

I wish doing one dorky thing is all I had in my closet. Some way too embarrassing to even mention here. Nobody is perfect that's for sure.

Sure we budget. Hubby has a spread sheet that is updated a couple of times weekly to track our expenditures/debt (no, he isn't an accountant) but it makes a huge difference. We are 17 years from retirement and we no longer have a mortgage, very little other debt and have emergency savings. Starting this about 5 years ago was the best thing we ever did. I was just commenting to him the other day that the one thing they should teach in school is how to manage your money because all of us tend to learn the hard way!

For me, being a dorky nerd was a way of life!! Once I started modeling, I found out I wasn't totally dorky...just a nerd who modeled!

    Default You model too?

So you modeled too? I tried it once, but scared off the magazine readers. Sort of looked like the "Mad Hungarian" in speedos I've been told. A little bit like that congressmen Weiner with a ripped upper body look. Yeah......right....uh huh....
