One of the reasons In-N-Out isn't too scattered around the country is they want a distribution plant close to their stores, to keep their inventory fresh. DFW didn't get the In-N-Outs until the plant was completed here.

Fresh ingredients are crucial to any successful restaurant. So that doesn't tell me much. All the ingredients of 5 guys looks like they were picked from the garden. The lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, Yellow or Red onion. Fresh potatoes too. The point is really moot. I don't live in a In and Out burger friendly kind of city, so being that there are none, and several 5 guys burger joints around, I really don't get the choice. So I'll refrain from speaking out against the In and Out burger until I am able to visit a place that has them. So for now, all I will say is this. "I'm glad you like them."
I will though another chain resaurant in for a good burger. I ended up at a tilted kilt in ATL and for me that has been the best burger I can remember having.
In and Out are fine for a basic no frills burger. I have yet to try 5 guys.

I’m not familiar with the ‘Tilted Kilt’, although the name has bar crawl written all over it. Am I correct in thinking one can get a hamburger and a beer there?![]()

Tilted Kilt? That sounds like a not so straight Scottish clan member gone on the wild side. Careful. He be tiltin it at ya!
Tilted Kilt is like Hooters, except they wear white blouses and very short plaid skirts(or kilts) and high stockings, and some of them even wear glasses! Naughty librarian/catholic school girl look. Whenever I'm in DFW I usually end up there.
A couple weeks ago I was quite upset when I allotted an extra 20 mins in my schedule in PHX to make a quick stop at In-N-Out before taking a redeye back east, and I found a 30+ minute line. There's normally a line at In-N-Out, but rarely that long. That night I settled for a gas station hot dog when I filled up the rental car.
Five Guys makes a very good burger, but its not an In-N-Out burger! Somewhat recently I ended up in LAX and was able to enjoy a double double, animal style, w/ animal fries.....and airplanes over my head.....................of course all this talk has me starving(In a South American location not exactly famous for it's gastronomy. Haven't really enjoyed a meal in a couple weeks.....and made the huge mistake of getting a burger once)
As for the original topic, I've had some fun days myself. I remember the time the ATL gate agent accidently sent out a CRJ w/ 8 open seats and I got to sit there for an extra 10 hours. Also spending the night in DL's LGA terminal and CVG Concourse A. A few other trips have been interesting as well.
As for the FAs taking care of our servicemembers, I can never see enough of this. It really doesn't take much to say thanks and help these men and women out in some way. 2 somewhat recent instances that really irked me were the GoJets FA out of IAD that refused to let me buy a soldier a beer, because it was her last flight of the day and she'd already completed her liquor sales report; and the ASA FA w/ 10 of 12 seats open in F who refused to upgade the 3 troops we had onboard, and then only upgraded one when I moved to the back to make room.
Of course more often than not I see crews kindly offering a comped beverage, extra snack, exit row or F upgrade without anybody asking. It's really nice to see that
It definitely was nice to see- well done.

Double-Double animal style - the only way to go!
Tip - Catch the free 'The Parking Spot' shuttle to their Sepulveda parking garage, the LAX In-N-Out is only a hop, step and a jump from there. But do tip the driver, after all he's saving you from having to dodge all that airport traffic.![]()
