I've got this one, and love it: Travelpro Flight Crew 4 22" Rollaboard - TravelPro - Brands
Little over your $125 budget, but it's worth it. You can spend an extra $10 to qualify for free shipping, or if you have access to a company store you've got a good chance. I really saw the quality in these as a ramp agent (lots of flight attendants used it) and used that as the basis for my choice. If it lasts a FA a few years with the heaviest use you can imagine, just imagine how long it would last you. Mine still looks brand new after a couple dozen uses (including some being checked/planeside checked)
High Sierra Lite AT3 22 inch--zip-off pack--under budget, durable and so easy to convert to full pack. Not that I'm turning into a turtle--I cut my straps out for extra pocket space. Good for everything! Surprising capacity. Shop around--we got ours for under $100 and free shipping. handle totally retreats into bag.

Wherever you go, there you are
I have a Tumi-Ducati carry-on . It was a gift, they got a deal -Tumi outlet store, big summer sale first part of June.
But you can call and ask what’s on clearance now.
And yes, like Brian’s bag, the Tumi might be a little over $125.

I wouldn't get hung up on the brand name. Unless you are that guy that likes named brands. Snap on tools they say are the best, but I don't see the justification on paying up to 4 times as much when I can get pretty good tools at Harbour Freight or Northern tools, Craftsman tools, or Grainger. With Snap on, you have to wait for the truck to come by, and like a FORD WRENCH can run you 60 bucks. Ok, guaranteed for life, but how often do you break a tool? Plus I don't like those Snap on guy's attitudes, they get pissy when you look and don't buy their overpriced tools. I think Craftsman is just as good, guaranteed for life, and you don't pay as much. I got tools from all makes just about. Go to Sams Club and see what kind of luggage they have. It's usually a bargain. They even sell tools there sometimes.
Thanks everyone. I will checkout the brands mentioned above and make a decision.
My Luggageworks Stealth 22 has been going strong for a couple years now with only some scratches on the corners, but it's definitely an investment. The 2 problems with it are the lack of a handle on the bottom, and it's pretty high empty weight.
For about 18 months, I used a Delsey roller around the $125 price range. I forget the model name, but it was a 22". It was a very decent bag and has a lot of life left in it, it just isn't a 300+ day/year bag anymore. I'd say without too much abuse, it could go about 600 days. If you travel 5 days/month, I'd say the bag would last close to 10 years.
from working on the ramp I always had an eye for the pelican cases. If they had a suitcase model I would invest in one for sure.
