Oh, and a scam to be aware of: My coworker was in Beijing (I think it was... somewhere in China for sure) with his girlfriend. In one of the touristy areas, a chinese girl, probably around 19, asks if she can talk to them to practice her English. Very nice, very charming girl. Then she asks if they'd like to join her for tea. They go to a shop, which is nice, but not very busy. At all. They start the tea service, which is very nice but very price-invisible. They ask how much it costs, they keep saying not to worry about it. Then the bill comes. $200. I think he was able to talk them down to $50, but still, that's pretty high. Bottom line, if you get someone asking you to join them for tea in China, don't. They had others try the same as well later in their trip.
