    Cool Aviation Quiz 29

    This quiz tests your knowledge of present day airlines - operating as of Aug 19, 2013.
    Are these carriers still flying, are they yesterday’s news, OR, are they merely figments of a vivid imagination? Don’t Google or wait around for (D2) ‘ddagencylv’ and copy his answers *wink* - just guess and see how you do.

    Tough one but here it goes -

    1- Dragonair - still flying
    2- Hello - vaguely remember the name but yesterday's news
    3- SpiceJet -still flying
    4- Scoot Airlines -still flying
    5- TED - yesterday's news (along with Song, Metrojet, Delta Express & Continental Lite)
    6- Velvet Sky Airline - still flying
    7- Yeti Airlines - still flying
    8- Ying & Yang Airlines - never heard of them unless this is a nickname for Korean Air
    9- Zest - never heard of them either but going to guess still flying

    10- What airline had the slogan
    “X Gets You There” (and yes the airline survived this slogan and flies today) - Delta

    Budget carrier renamed Vanilla Air - Telegraph


    The airline’s president Tomonori Ishii told reporters -

    “We chose vanilla as our brand name because it is popular and loved by everyone in the world” . “I think it is a very cute name.”

    1- Dragonair - Still Flying (Headquarters Hong Kong)
    2- Hello - Yesterday’s News-No longer operating (Swiss charter)
    3- SpiceJet - Still Flying( India)
    4 - Scoot - Still Flying (Singapore)
    5- TED - Yesterday’s News-No longer operating - United’s low fare airline.
    BTW, the name TED was meant to send the message that the airline was part of the United family. It wasn’t part of the family for long.

    6- Velvet Sky Airline - Yesterday’s News-No longer flying (South Africa)
    7- Yeti Airlines - Still Flying (Nepal)
    8- Ying & Yang Airlines - Figment of a vivid imagination
    9- ZEST - Still Flying (Philippines) On a side note, operations were suspended Aug 16, 2013 but as of Aug, 20 it’s flying again - aviation has always embraced change. *salute*

    You really love airplanes, the hustle and bustle of airports and can sleep on a rock.
    You’re airline knowledgeable and are punctual to a fault.
    In fact if it wasn’t for your obsession with unusual food combinations (potato chip sandwiches with cream cheese) you’d be the perfect travel companion.
