Thumbs up Non-Rev Layover Survival Guide

Even with meticulous planning we all know that as non-revs we are at the mercy of fluctuating loads, mechanicals, late arriving flights and the ripple effect of weather and computer issues - the non-rev gods can be a fickle bunch.
So this guide is for those that find themselves stuck (between flights or overnight) at the airport. Please add to the list with your own home airport layover guide.
    LAX
    LAX Day Use Hotel
Travelodge at LAX - Best Los Angeles Hotels Motels: Travelodge at LAX Hotel, Los Angeles, California - Next to LAX airport

Hours are 9am to 8pm check-in may be delayed based upon availability.
Rate is $74.95 for 2 and $79.95 for up to 4 + tax (Breakfast is included if you arrive during breakfast hours (6am-9am)
Free 24/7 shuttle – you must call for pick-up
Call the hotel 310-649-4000 or toll free at 1-800-421-3939

    The Beach
If you have a couple of hours and want some sun, sand and cresting waves, go to the beach- Manhattan Beach, (the Creamery- great ice-cream) Redonda Beach, Santa Monica. Uber/Lyft pickups/drop-offs are on the upper departures level

    LAX Overnight

The Fairfield Inn & Suites Los Angles LAX/El Segundo (formerly the Hacienda Hotel).
Extended Stay Hotel Near LAX | Fairfield Inn & Suites Los Angeles LAX El Segundo

The hotel is close to the airport (maybe a 5-minute drive) has a 24/7 every ˝ hour shuttle - you must call for pick-up, BUT what sets this hotel apart from the numerous hotels around LAX and the reason I recommend it (even though some of the rooms are a little noisy - airplanes) is because of the nearby (right across the street) strip mall. There’s a bank(Chase), a grocery store, several fast food places AND…… an In-N-Out Burger (arguably the best burger in California if not the entire U.S.) The hotel offers a free breakfast and wi-fi. Depending on occupancy, it does offer an airline rate, but no day rate.
