    Cool On the Fly Trip

As non-revs we can travel the world and plan trips with the precision of a general marshalling his troops for battle. But sometimes opportunity just falls in our laps - the sun, moon and the stars align...and you're off on that grab-your-bag-and-go trip. It could be for a quick couple of hours, an overnight, or 48 hours on the ground, but you seize your on-the-fly adventure with both hands.

    Two of mine

    LAX/MSY/LAX
Savored char-broiled oysters, poked my head into a couple of clubs on Frenchmen St and devoured fresh, HOT beignets at Cafe Du Monde. Brought home "souvenir" pralines *wink*
Maybe 12 hours on the ground. First both ways.

    LAX/MDW -ORD/LAX
What makes this trip memorable were the WN members here in the Forum, who when my ORD flight went sideways, found me a Chicago flight. Yeah I missed the processional and a few speeches, but I saw my niece get her masters *a promise kept*
Maybe 5/6 hours on the ground, which included a harrowing ride from MDW to the graduation and a stop a Portillo's for hot dogs on the way to ORD.
First ORD/LAX (they knew me) *laughing*

What 's your favorite on the fly trip?
