Passengers on Allegiant Air Flight 714 from Florida to Kentucky, were given a pleasant surprise on Friday when the airline announced they would all be getting refunds on their airfare.
The refunds are in honor of “Tax Day,” the national deadline for filing taxes, the newspaper said. This year’s deadline is April 18 rather than the usual April 15.

Allegiant refunded airfare to 159 passengers on Friday’s flight and planned to surprise more passengers through Monday, according to USA Today. The airline said it would refund airfare to passengers on one flight Saturday, one Sunday and three more on Monday.
“We’re very excited to give the folks traveling from Orlando to Owensboro today their money back, and we can’t wait for the opportunity to surprise more passengers over the next three days,” Allegiant chief operating officer Jude Bricker told the newspaper. “Allegiant knows that Tax Day isn’t everyone’s favorite day, so we wanted to make it a little more enjoyable for our passengers by giving them a head-start on their refund.
