AM has concluded B777 operations after its last remaining aircraft of the family, B777-200(ER) N774AM (msn 28689), conducted its last revenue flight on Monday, February 26 (EZE - MEX).
Airline CEO Andres Conesa Labastida said in an earning's call this month that the retirement of the B777s was part of a fleet simplification programme which, from now on, will see AeroMéxico's longhaul flying being undertaken by more cost-efficient B787 aircraft.
As it stands, AeroMéxico operates nine B787-8s and seven B787-9s while its narrowbody fleet constitutes B737s exclusively - one B737 MAX 8, fourteen B737-700s, and thirty-eight B737-800
