    Default Tools section?

I recall on the old site there was a links sections, and now that is a tools section (?)

Tbh, I was never a huge fan of the links section. Random links would appear on the home screen, but you would click one and it would take you to the links page, and you would have to find that link in the list again!

I clicked on the tools section today, and it has only a few things in there.

There has been many discussions on this site regarding other websites, contacts and tips - such as seatcounter.com, seatguru.com, wikitravel.org, oag flight tools (schedules), luggagelimits.com, tour guide sites (ourexplorer, global greeter) or recommendations, that luxury link place mrs767 seems to like :P

What if we created subsections under the tools section with links, such as
    - Schedules (OAG etc.)
    - Destination and tours (wikitravel, our explorer, global greeter network)
    - Listing (flyzed, BA staff site, air france staff site etc., seatcounter)
    - Airline offerings / misc (luggage limits, seatguru)
    - Hotels (luxury link, id90.com)*

It would be preferable that the links were dot points below the heading, rather than having to click a heading to get to the links.

*- understand this could be a sore point due to the site having its own booking engine for hotels.

    What do you all think?

People have great ideas, contacts and websites, but it seems one has to search the threads to get them, whereas a complied list would be great, imo

Sure...I can start working on that.

The old site did have a tools tab though, and I copied it pretty much verbatim:

Oh yeah there it is! Must have forgotten about that one.

Currency converter under a heading would be good too. Instead of the current link, can we embed the converter? Info here: Currency Converter and .... html below

    Suggestion-
Don't know if this should go into "Tools" or a "sticky" in the Airlines Forum, but I would like to see a list of nonrev flight listing phones numbers. Right now the only ones I know are AA and WN.

Yes that's a great idea! Our intranet lists *some* but a lot are "refer to the airline" or "refer to reservations" etc. It does this for NW/DL - and they certainly have dedicated phones numbers!

Now that I think about it, I think a "sticky" in the 'Checking Loads' Forum might be the best place - private.

How are we sitting on this, Kerry? I like Migs idea especially... should we start a thread under checking loads to compile a list of... listing details... which we can then make a sticky?

I'm fine with that. Personally, I don't see the big deal about secrecy. Lists are published out on the internet already.
