I am planning a week trip to Costa Rica. I'm looking for lodging suggestions for the Pacific coast.

    Thanks.

Just got back 2 weeks ago. Stayed in Manuel Antonio at La Mansion for 3 nights. The view and the accomodations are amazing. The service and staff are also great. I have also stayed at si como no and La Mariposa which I also recommend. If you go check out a new outdoor restraunt called Mi Lugar. This place is brand new with the best sunset views in Manuel Antonio. Best food I have had in Costa Rica. It's off the beaten path so you will have to ask for directions. Good Luck...

I think that this place is central as opposed to Pacific but my friend claims it was great:

If you're going to Tamarindo, I'd recommend . . . whats the name? El Cocodrilo? Hotel cocodrilo? Something like that. It's a few blocks north of the circle on the beach side.
French owned. Clean. A/C. Cheap. Plus they have a French bakery you can get pastries for breakfast, a bar & resturant, and beach access. Just watch the lagoon for the croc.

Oh, and if you're going to Monteverde, I'd recommend Hotel Sunset. Its up the hill toward the zipline tour companies.
The hotel is owned by a very nice & seemingly honest German (born) man, who keeps the place very clean. Its simple, but inexpensive, and it has a wonderful view. A good breakfast is included, and for (I think) $7, he makes an excellent dinner. We had Tilapia and mashed potatos, plus some other stuff. The best meal we had in Costa Rica.
