Must show returning flight info when entering colombia
Does anyone know if showing a listing for a non-rev flight out of Colombia is good enough for their guidelines? I visited once but we had positive space tickets returning so this wasn't an issue. Just wondering if a non-rev space available ticket is proof enough that yes, I will be eventually leaving your country. (It's a beautiful country too BTW) This will be a 2 week tourist visit, so not requiring a visa. Thanks!
Never had issues when entering Colombia to provide proof. However as a rule I always have a copy of a listing for a return or onward flight (even if it's a dummy listing) when travelling international. Couple times I've been asked to show it US immigration.
Thanks for that info, good to know not everyone is asked. And that they might not bat an eye at a standby listing. When we went in April we were asked for departing documentation.
If you REALLY want to be safe, buy a full-fare *refundable* ticket to another country. Doesn't even have to be back home, all Colombia cares about is that you'll be leaving their country. Once in, cancel it and get your money back. It may tie up some money on your credit card, but you'll get it back!
