    Default SWA Adds Big in Spring 2016. AS/DL/UA/AA Route Competition

    Southwest Airlines will add several new routes starting 4/12/16.


    ATL - GSP     3x daily (DL dominate)
    MDW - DAY 3x daily (Open Route)
    MDW - FNT 3x daily (Open Route)
    MDW - GRR 3x daily (SAT 1x daily)
    EWR - LAS 1x daily (UA Dominate)
    EWR - MCO 2x daily ($$$)
    PHX - ICT 1x daily (US Air Dropped Nonstop)
    STL - DSM 2x daily (Open Route)
    STL - PIT 1x daily (Open Route)
    STL - SEA 1x daily (Previously Seasonal, AS 1x daily)
    STL - ICT 2x daily (Open Route)

    Those MDW flights DO overlap when you consider ORD also serving the Chicago metro area! When you say UA dropped nonstop on EWR-LAS, do you mean that UA downsized that route? I never heard anything about us cancelling it altogether, and I'd be shocked if we did!

    Yeah, I'd be very surprised about UA dropping EWR-LAS. I searched for a random day in March and June and found UA 5 nonstops in March and 7 in June.

    I stand corrected. 3x daily average to LAS.
