    Default Adios!

I'm running away to the Riviera Maya for a few days of R&R at Hacienda Tres Rios. If I can see after consuming mass quantities of tequila and champange, I'll check in if anyone needs help for loads. Until then , Adios amigos!
May all your pains be champagnes.

If you can see! With all that drinking, I doubt you’ll even be able to stand up. Have fun!

Drinking in La riviera maya? I dont think people can do such a thing! LOL!!! Tecate/Dos X/ Corona/ Cerveza Sol/Tequila- what's that?
By the way, dont drink any of the water or even the ice cubes, me and the partner just returned from Mexico DF and he had "TURISTA/Travelers sickness" for 4 straight days. I'm from Latin America so my stomach is set up for it but I take it the American stomach might be more prone to Turista. Anywho I'm sure you've been south of the the border plenty of times before so you will make sure to take the necessary precautions.

    Regards,

"THE TURISTA"? That's a new one. Otherwise, we here and depending on which part of the states you come from, call this sickness "THE MONTEZUMA'S REVENGE", (His real name was not Montezuma, but rather MOCTEZUMA) but we know what we gringos mean, or if you were a foot soldier in Vietnam back in the day, you probably called it "BAD CASE OF THE SHTS MAN". Some know it as "HERSHEY SQUIRTS."

If you had the runs for 4 days straight, I got one word for you.......KAOPECTATE!!!!! You'da probably have gotten rid of it overnight. Now finding that in Mexico is very simple to find. I think they call it DOS EQUIS. Comes in green bottle with a twist of LIME.

    Default Ouch

Ouch m767er, I think you're really asking for it in the Yucatan at this time of the year. Probably much cheaper, but I'd be caking on that sun tan lotion. Better yet, stay in the shade. It's downright HOT in summer in the Yucatan. Like about like it is in Houston right now if not, hotter. But I suspect your airconditioning system at the resort should be in tip top shape. Just gonna get real red if you go swimming unless you take precautions. Have a good trip.

How did you get to your hotel? Did you have your hotel pick you up or rent a car? How far was your resort from the airport. They hit us for like 17 bucks a piece just for a couple miles down the road by bus and there was no other way to do it other than cab for like 95 bucks. What a scam.

yeah--it's controlled by airport/gov. Private transfers range from $80 to $120 RT anywhere near Playa.
USA Transfers was the best deal avail. (usually our place incldues transfers but they changed it) We were between Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen (40 mins) for $80+ $10 tip RT. private van--changed our plans each way and email contact in mins to update. great service. we did the AI at Hacienda Tres Rios. Not cheap but good liquor and good wines, Super food.
USA even has a $30upcharge for an hour of shopping at Walmart if you do condo route!!
There is an AI just south of HTR called H10 resort and it's usually very reasonable. We went once and liked it--been remodled since our first stay--loooks good from beach walk.

Cozumel is way less expensive. But there is probably more to do in the Mayan Riviera. Actually, screw those resorts. I would like to hit somewhere not so touristy and off the beaten path like PUERTO ESCONDIDO. Would like to be able to walk up to a fisherman and strike a deal on some fresh fish or oysters, lobsters, or and have a good cook fix it up for me and the old lady. And a case of cold brews of course. Coconut for the lady.
