    Default Choo Choo

British Pullman in Luxury Train - Tour Package Deals | Luxury Link

well, it certainly is a bit on the excessive side! I must say that I've never spent $200 each for lunch, but it's very tempting to do do something outrageous like a 5 course lunch, champagne, wine, butler with a stop for a champagne reception...
Too bad the nonrev fees and taxes for UK are so high. But it is a "steal" at half-price!
You see, years ago my mom always wanted to do something decadent--her idea was flying to St Louis to have lunch at the arch and fly back (St. L was an arbitrary choice--could have been anywhere, but she did like rivers...) Both of my parents are gone and the legacy they left for me was a chunk of travel money. I do a fair amount of semi-frugal-extravagant travel (yep--it's possible) and this one is tugging at me...

The other offer, which thankfully, does not suit our current travel dates is:
Eastern & Oriental Express in Luxury Train - Tour Package Deals | Luxury Link
Wonder if I can figure out a way for next year, if available? That's still a lotta dough!

I'd literally just read an article on the train before I opened nonrev. Check out Eastern & Oriental Express Singapore to Bangkok train trip review written by the man in seat 61

Thanks Nick! I really admire the maninseat61. Fabulous writer and website. I am seriously re-thinking that it isn't SO expensive when viewed as once in lifetime experience. We're hoping for more dates for next year for the southbound BKK/SIN 3 nt.

I have always wanted to do those, and the Victoria Falls Express too.

I wanna do the rocky mountaineer and trans siberia railway... will do 1 of them for honeymoon next year

The ride SIN-BKK used to be more interesting when it left from Tanjong Pagar in Singapore but that shut recently. I regret never taking the train

I was going to mention the trans siberian, but I really don't think I will ever get there in this lifetime. To many other sites to see.
