I found a very cool place a couple of hours from home. We're going to explore the Bourbon and Bacon Trails for a few days in January. Looking forward to being "incarcerated".

As long it has bourbon and chocolate in it--maybe bacon. Who needs anything else baked in? hehehe
We found the tavern next door: Talbott Tavern :: Home
and that looks pretty good. They have a special bourbon flight--5 shots for $26.
Barton has free tour/tasting, others charge but Woodford is on the way from Lexington. Maker's is the best tour/tasting I've ever done but there are so many! Beam is right there, too. I'm on the hunt for the closest bacon/Ky ham resources.
Mig, I think you should consider bringing the OH some day and pulling out all the stops. Maybe even a trip to Mammoth Cave!

So you want me to go into a cave. I thought you liked tree houses.

M7 when you say bourbon/bacon trails can I assume that‘s similar to Napa /Sonoma wine country and you’ll be visiting distilleries by day and enjoying bourbon laced dishes at night - sounds like you’ll be in for high times, no wonder you‘re going to “jail” (I know I’ll get my hat)

Holy Pig, Baconator! I can't wait to try it! We'll do one on the way, then one in Bardstown. Settle in to jail and maybe try a flight at the tavern next door. Wander around town next day, see Civil War Museum, tour Gethsemane Monastery nearby, check out one more distillery, then walk to dinner here:

I'm guessing we'll stop at a final distillery on the way (undecided).
Looking forward to breakfast @ Mammy's (Kentucky HAM!!)
Have a jacuzzi each night before bed so I can hopefully sleep thru any ghostie visits.
I plan to take a few homemade candied bacon/maple/bourbon marshmallows to share w/hosts. Yes, they are a bit on the weird side...
Theme of the trip is to enjoy it but not overindulge in any aspect (at that includes bacon)...
