so what, just tell my supervisor that I want to go to...lets say a birthday party or wedding (whatever the occasion) in NZ and thats about it?

Has anyone actually flown with NZ or Qantas as an employee of another airline (ZED or ID90, buddy pass, etc)??

1) the problem where "unregistered" was able to post was my fault, and not an attempt to do anything wrong by anyone.
2) being a forum admin is tough...lots of spammers trying to post garbage on here all the time, so you can understand that we sometimes react harshly to things that appear to be odd, hacked, etc.

So, since I was the cause of the misunderstanding, I edited this thread and removed some back-and-forth that was neither the original posters, nor our moderator's fault.


In any case, my fault, we had a bad setting that's been changed now. Carry on...

I don't log onto the forum regularly but whenever I do I enjoy the information, games and general fun of the boards. However, I felt compelled to write this time in regards to your last post to this thread and your "unregistered" guest about his/her comments. I totally disagree with the way this whole situation is being handled. Whenever an individual writes something a bit questionable on the board; one who doesn't take the time to register but takes the time to be curt should have no opportunity in the future to continue doing the same at his/her discretion. As the "big cheese" it's obvious that you don't respect the moderator's ability (the one that you apparently appointed in the first place) to monitor the board and make a decision based on what he believes to be appropriate. I would hope that in instances where I as a manager (moderator) in making a decision would know that my "boss" would have my back, but that's just me.

Tried to explain it above, but this was a bit different in that the situation was created because I hadn't fixed a bad setting. If it were right in the first place, nobody could have posted as "unregistered", and no controversy would have ensued. Righting my own wrong as it were.

Thanks for the explanation but I think you are missing my point. I understood that you were "righting your wrong" but you did it at the expense of your moderating staff.

I believe that you have inadvertently opened the door for others to disrespect your moderators. Once there is rudeness, in whatever form, to a moderator you no longer have control over the direction of the board. A benchmark has now been created for others to look to since apparently the only person who has been reprimanded was a member of your staff, not the person who was discourteous in the first place.

I think your responsibility was to back the play of your moderating staff which you didn't do.

Well, to all involved I apologize for the drama. Bowler, thanks for the info. Admin, thanks for reopening the thread so that I could get that info. However, there is too much drama going on. I think the best thing to do for everyone's sake is to close the thread again. Idk. Up to you. But I'm gonna go elsewhere with future questions. Thanks again and happy flying to everyone.

I didn't miss your point. I happen to disagree with most of your conclusions, but I'm declining to comment on it in a public forum as it's nobody's business but mine and the moderators.
