Default My United itinerary disappeared (deleted)

If anyone (Spongebue) has an idea please let me know.

So, I was trying to fly from MKE to SLC and one option was on United from MKE to ORD to IAD to SLC. Originally I was listed just for the MKE to ORD flight at 1:10pm. I did not make that flight and was carried forward to the 2:30 pm flight. That flight was delayed 1.5 hours and United ended up getting a bus for passengers to get to ORD to make their connecting flights. So, I cancelled that confirmation number and made a new listing for MKE-ORD-IAD-SLC as I was able to take the bus and would need a ticket to get through security. I had the gate agent at MKE check me in and print my boarding passes.

Took the bus to ORD and was waiting around the United gate. I thought at one point my name was on the standby list but then I noticed I was no longer listed. I logged into employeeRES and my name was no longer on the standby list and my confirmation number was no longer in the 'my travel plans' tab.

Any ideas of why it would have been deleted?

My thought was since I was listed for the 2:30pm flight but took the provided bus to ORD that when the flight actually took off they saw I was not there and deleted the itinerary. No issues as I noticed this in time to relist myself for the flights in ORD but just courious as to why it was deleted.

That is strange, but yeah, my best guess is what you mentioned - that the rest of the reservation got cancelled because the first flight was missed.

Did this happen on Tuesday? If so, and the delay was caused by the SHARES outage, maybe the agents didn't have the ability to properly modify the reservation. Well, technically SHARES was not down, just the "bridge" between SHARES and the airports and the outside world was out, so from the agents' perspective it was all out.

Thanks Brian, thank goodness I was not travelling on Tuesday, it was Monday. With the Shares issue and the storm it would have not been a good travel day.

ps. How is the new job?

New job is great! I do miss working the ramp sometimes, but otherwise it's pretty good. I'm actually making a livable wage, unlike most people in the industry, and am basically as much of a Colorado resident as you can get now (just got new plates for the cars today)

Oh, and my first real project seems to be pretty fitting... new system to make ZED fares for UA employees faster and need much less human interaction, at least on many airlines. Too bad I won't be able to use the thing until I reach 6 months of service in November.
