Thread: UA Turns 90

It's going to be a big celebration in a number of ways, starting with birthday cake for all of United's 84,000 employees. Passengers on the world's third-largest carrier also will celebrate the big day with complimentary Byrd's sugar cookies that will be given out on all United domestic flights and all outbound international flights from the United States.

Believe it or not, United introduced the first live television on planes way back in the 1960s. Inflight lounges aboard Boeing 707's had televisions that aired live programming while planes briefly flew over major metropolitan areas.
