    Default Iah-nrt-icn

    Hi United friends,

If I list UA IAH-NRT tickets will United let me on for the NRT-ICN with Asiana nonrev leg? I see a lot of people list for UA7, since Japan is still "closed" (with tourism package only allowed) I'm wondering if they will let standby's transiting through NRT through?

Or will I get denied boarding in Houston?

    Thanks!

I'll send up flares to a couple of our UA members, hopefully you'll get some good news.
I have to say navigating air travel, to say nothing of non-rev travel, at the present time is complicated, add in Covid precautions and the NRT website that warns of "continuing changes" and I'll just say you're in for an interesting travel experience. And believe me as one who recently journeyed through 2 1/2 airports I know whereof I speak.
All I can think of is for you to continue to check the NRT site, cross your fingers and hope for good news. However as one that recently returned from my own travel adventure, I will say - traveling/airports are stressful, pax are frustrated, gate agents are overwhelmmed and inbound flights are delayed...a lot (which in my case was fortuitous since TSA precheck was closed at LAX making for some very very long lines

Opinions and requests | NARITA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OFFICIAL WEBSITE (narita-airport.jp) Try this if no one can provide you with a definite answer. It's not really an airline issue but the policy of the counties involved. Good luck

From a Facebook tread, the answer given was that you need a confirmed ticket to transit through, you can nonrev in though. Makes sense being that you are not allowed in country if you miss your connection. Also no one is allowed to stay airside overnight.

Ok I’m not surprised with that answer, I figured it was too good to be true. I appreciate you checking with your other group!
