Default Non reving to South Africa help

So i'm trying to find the best route to go by as far as taxes go. It's kind of frustrating with our airline we have to email a pass request in with our credit card info and then they make the res for you and mail you the tickets. The problem is I don't have any clue how much they are going to charge they just make the res and whatever the price is they charge it without telling you. Does anyone here have any way of giving me a pretty good idea how much taxes would be non reving froming MCO-JNB-MCO. For right now my only options I have are with Lufthansa and Virgin atlantic as they are the only airlines we have agreements with that we can use that flies to South Africa...any info would be muchly appreciated

Avoid LHR lke the plague, which would mean VS. Taxes out of LHR are very high making a nonrev pass extremely expensive, you might as well buy a regular ticket. LH would be your best bet, from what I have unserstood they do very well on the FRA-JNB run which is why they use the Airbus 380 - so loads are very high. Do you have an agreement with SAA?

ditto for FRA--exit taxes are as bad as LHR this month
Maybe AMS is better via KLM?

Greyham - to give you an idea - here are the very approx tax levels. Please note that from what I recall of the rules, depending on the type of passs you get, you may be exempt from some bits of the US arrival taxes. e.g. ID75 versus FOC etc.

MCO to both FRA and LGW.....just under $20
FRA to JNB ... a bit over $105.
LGW to LHR by bus - price of ticket about $38.
LHR to JNB just under $170.

JNB to FRA or LHR.... about $52
    FRA to MCO.... around $140
LHR to LGW by bus price of ticket about $38.
LGW to MCO ... around $146.

I note that VS and LH are the only airlines that fly into both MCO and JNB. Are you sure you can't get anything on SA or DL ?....they both fly non stop from USA to JNB, and you may be able to use someone else to JFK. DL do a handy MCO-ATL- JNB connection.

Oh and one last point - if you were to travel out of LHR or LGW in biz or first, the taxes would end up being even higher. (I assume unlikely to be applicable - but felt I had to mention).

    Happy planning !!!

I'd be careful about taking DL to JNB. I've heard many stories around here about full flights, and the station manager being pretty bad. Avoid if possible.

Thanks for all the tips Lee, Unfortunately we don't have agreements with DL or SAA so thats why my options are so limited i'm starting to think it's probable just a better idea to spend the little extra $ and go confirmed. Btw if anyone is interested I have a couple buddy passes on Alaska airlines that I won at work if anyone would be interested in some sort of trade or something PM me
