Thanks MFlank. You beat me to it. I like it. Very clean lines and bold tail.

So in general, I really like when the tail paint comes down and "grabs" the fuselage, in something like a "swoosh" or a Fedex style. The biggest thing I don't like about DL's new livery is that the blue tail stops abruptly at the base and doesn't touch the fuselage like in the wavy gravy. I think having the tail paint cross that border onto the fuse really ties the tail into the whole airplane, while having the paint stop at the tail/fuse border makes the tail look like it's stuck on w/ modelling cement. Until now, the only thing worse than the tacked on tail was the last nwa (lower case of course) livery that had the abrupt tail/fuselage line, but it was offset a bit up the tail......that looked awful!

Now for this particular livery, I have to reverse my position entirely. While this livery could certainly be better, it's not bad. The one just horrendously awful part is that ridiculous bar on the fuselage below the tail. In this livery, with such bold and abrupt lines, the stripes have to either stop at the bottom of the tail, or be brought onto the fuselage and ended in a wavy/swoosh manner.

I think the absolute prettiest liveries have curves/waves incorporated, much like Boeing's Dreamliner/748i livery. I would have liked to see something like that for AA. And with a flag theme, it wouldn't be hard at all to have it waving in the wind.

I'd say this new livery is definitely a fail, but just get rid of that one damn bar below the APU exhaust, and it wouldn't be too bad at all

I say YUK. Makes me think piano keyboard. Totally dislike the extended paint. If they're going to extend it, this makes more sense:

I’ll get use to it, but I will miss the AA/eagle logo, just not impressed with the “stylized beak”.

Not loving the paint job extending past the tail. I would probably really like it otherwise.
