Bikerscooby - I have just checked those flights LAX-SYD on 25/2 again for you - the QF12 is still showing around 100 Y class, the 108 about 60. The return flights on the 7/3 the 107 has about 100 seats and the 11 about 80. Have a good holiday and remember to try an Aussie meat pie!!

Bikerscooby just so you don't miss the plane on this end, those QF flights leave from T4 (AA) not Bradley.
Have fun and don't forget your helmet.

We flew QF to SYD in October 2003. Flights were very full, but we were able to use our LAX/SYD coupon to go LAX/AKL/SYD. No additional fare required and the flight to New Zealand was empty. Don't forget about the non-rev desk at SYD. Forget about doing any duty free shopping at the airport. By the time you get your boarding pass, you will have precious time to get through passport control, security and then to the gate.

Have a wonderful time. Sydney and Cairns are beautiful. The Blue Mountains are spectacular, not to be missed.

    Thanks for the tips.

This is my second trip to Sydney... I bought a normal ticket last time (2/03). I did see the Blue Mountains last time; I was surprised that it is actually a canyon and not mountains (at least the part that I saw).

So, we leave from LAX terminal 4, and on the way back have to check in (early) at the "RED S" instead of the normal place; dress is business casual.

Last time I was on Qantas they served free alcoholic drinks... do they still do that, and if so is it ok for nonrevs to have a couple?

Qantas international flights still serve free alcoholic drinks. As far as I know the "red S" counter went a year or two ago - they just have a standby desk now. Have a great holiday

We made it to Sydney and back with no problems, on our original planned flights.

FYI - At Sydney airport, International Terminal, the nonrev check-in is at counter E1, marked as "staff check-in", except for US-bound flights, where nonrevs check in at the regular lines E3-E12 then wait near E1 later to be called.

We're going again this year! Already got ZED passes. Can someone check flight loads for me for these? Thanks.

    Man...I wanna go to SYD.

You have to have a few VB's for me!

Does anyone out there have a QF prize letter they would want to trade for a few WN passes?

So the secret ingredient in meat pies is beer! No wonder Australians are always saying "cheers".
