A group of us are using ZED tickets to non-rev to PVG via NRT on JAL. Does anyone know JAL's non-rev dress code?

Nonrevd LAX-NRT on JAL and the dress code is to look nice. I wore nice pants, a dark colored dress shirt and no tie. The girl I was with wore a dress and nice shoes. Just look classy and you'll be fine!

I don't understand why this question has to be asked. If you fly standby, you should always dress up in case they may move you up to first class because that may be the only place they can put you.

Incidentally, a Guayabera is basically a nice elegant cool wearing shirt, that has about 4 pockets, and you don't tuck in. They are definately made for the TROPICS. I don't see why they don't take hold here in the USA during the summer.
I noticed when I worked for CONTINENTAL MICRONESIA years ago, they had an interesting dress code for buisness first that included the option of wearing those HAWAIIAN style shirts with buttons and collars, in place of suits and ties. It's just more feasable in the tropics to wear that style of clothing. Almost like a GUAYABERA but with the ISLAND look. Another great place for a GUAYABERA is in the PHILIPPINES as in most of Latin America. I've seen everyone wear them from office workers to waiters to buisness men. It's an all purpose elegant on the spot wear. I'll see if I can post you a pic here.

So you don't want to dress up too much eh? I doubt they'll throw you off of Buisness First wearing this as long as you wear some dark slacks and dress shoes. Here it is. These come in many colors. The white is popular, reflects the sun rays. NO TIES to wear, you don't tuck in the shirt. Plenty of pockets for even your lap top. You want a little more class, wear a straw hat like those in Guatemala. You'll have the rich coffe land owner look. Read some history on this shirt by clicking on the GUAYABERA underlined link below.
