Hey everyone,

I know there are many airlines who fly multiple frequencies from the USA to NRT. I'm lucky enough to work in an airport that has many frequencies to many hub cities, leaving me many options for connecting. I was wondering-- for those of you who have traveled to NRT non-rev, which airline has treated you best? Of course, load factors would be my first choice, but afterwards the service is really what I'm looking for!

Thanks,
septquatresept

septquatresept. Is this a handle for 747? Do you like the 747's? NWA had the 747's going from NRT to MNL. But if you want to go to NRT, I bet NWA has them still. You want good service? I'd try KOREAN AIR. Have you tried a B-777? I work on Septemtreseptem's, Septemseptemseptem's, Septemsexseptem's and septemquinquectseptem's.

I guess would opt for the airline that allows upgrade to biz/first class international as your partner

I can tell you from multiple recent expereince on KE that their biz int class is sub-par and we paid for seat with hard-earned miles! Sorry Palms, I beg to differ--we didn;t even get the FA "bow" the last 2 trips

DL does not typically upgrade OAL--nor will you get that from NW because they don't even upgrade DL nonrevs or their own personnel w/out surcharge

We've NR'd out of ATL sev times on DL as 20 yr seniority and it was heaven in business. no clue what coach was like--they realy keep the curtain closed

Of course septquatresept is a handle for 747. It's French, but I took Latin years ago in high school so I understand what you're suggesting. I rather do like the septemsexseptem as well.

Thanks for your opinions. I think for now I'll go with NW, because of the frequencies to NRT, and because I guess I need to be nostalgic and take them before March, when the inflight service becomes DL. (No bad feelings towards DL here-- I took them in October after not having taken them for years due to one bad experience, and my mind has definitely been changed!) The flights are open for now, which is also a big factor...

I was thinking KE or DL on the return, depending on how open all of these flights are...

Thanks again everyone!

The ladies on Korean Airlines are like models. We used to service the KE planes coming in from Korea when I worked out in the Pacific, and those Korean ladies are very petite like China dolls. Asiana used to run from Seoul to NYC, and they were the cheapest. Before we ran the triple sevens from Narita to Houston, I had to take NW from GUAM to NRT to DET to BOS, other times via Chicago. They had the ASIAN connection. Pretty much still do.

mrs septsixsept er (thats's mrs767er):
I always enjoy all your contributions, but have to differ here
"DL does not typically upgrade OAL.."
because we (NW parents) have had pretty good luck with getting up front out of JFK, and once out of BDL (when Delta did BDL-LAX).
Always grateful to DL for great OAL non-rev treatment.
Heading over to France again in a week or two, lamenting that JFK-NCE, which has been daily for 30 years (that includes many Pan Am years for that flt) is now three per week., but glad they've added LYS, which is almost as convenient to where we want to go as NCE.

One time flying out of Detroit to go to NAGOYA, we got upgraded. This is how it happened. There was this guy from NW getting prepped for the travelers. I was standing around and approached him and just struck up a conversation. It was more like in the lines of how it was like to work in Detroit with NW and I told him I was out in the Pacific working for CMI that we were on vacation in the states. He then just like that, out of the whim, looked in his computer and UPGRADED US out of the kindness of his heart. He must have thought I was a good guy. I didn't have being upgraded at all on my mind and didn't expect it at all. He saved us a long long long flight by putting us up. Should have taken his name and mailed him a card or something.

The FA's on Korean are adorable! And they fit in the aisles! I doubt there's a kilo of fat on all of them combined. Even when they change to galley service, they look professional. Even the little scarves and hair ornaments stay on. It's just the quality of service/food/bev that was lacking on our ICN/DPS or BKK flights but same both ways.

I'm glad DL has been doing the upgrades, even tho I love the empty seat next to me!! hahahaha Told'ya--I'm spoiled!

Only turn off for me is the KIMCHE smell. I don't like it. Koreans eat it so much it reeks bad through their skin and clothing. When they talk close to you, I feel like that SouthWest Airlines commercial. "YOU WANNA GET AWAY?" YESSSSS....yesterday.
