Hello everyone. Brand new to this site.

I am planning on non-reving on QF from LAX to SYD (going through BNE or AKL if needed) next week. Does anyone know how often those flights get weight restricted? I tried a few years ago to go LAX-AKL and the flight had over 100 seats but they let no standbys on, so I am a bit nervous about that.

Also, I know SYD/MEL leave LAX from TBIT but BNE/AKL leave from T4. If I dont get on a SYD flight from TBIT is there time to get over to a BNE or AKL flight from T4? There is about 1-1.25 hours between flights.

    Thanks!

    Hi sdl722, welcome aboard.

TBIT and T4 are right next door to each other, maybe a 5/6 minute walk. (assuming you're not lugging a heavy heavy bag ). At that time of night the security wait time at T4, is maybe 30/40 minutes (depending of course). You can check the TSA wait time calculator for an historical average, although I think their times seem a little quick.

    On United Airlines:

I'm not sure about the weight restrictions.

I checked the loads from both LAX and SFO next Sunday July 5 to Thursday July 9. Every flight is over booked in coach. There are seats available in First and Business.
