    Hello,

I'm a US employee and hoping any CO employees could help me. My partner and I want to visit Guam this Oct. We would fly US to get to HNL, then ZED on CO to get to GUAM. This is the only 1 nonstop on CO going to Guam. How is non-reving to Guam from HNL? Is it challenging? are the flights oversold? is there a lot of non-revs?

I do know CO has a 2nd flight that goes to/from Guam, but the 2nd flight makes multiple stops in various Micronesia islands. I be afraid I get bumped off on one of the islands (especially on the return flights back to HNL). Therefore, I would just prefer the non-stop. Also what would be the most favorable days (for non-rev)? This is my first travel experience beyond Hawaii in the Pacific region.

    Thanks,

    Skyfly

    Hi,
It really depends. When I flew to Guam in jan the loads were good before I left. When i got to Hnl there were 48 seats and over 100 non revs listed and it changed overnight. I decided to do the island hop and let me tell you it was a living h-e-l-l. I dont think that you will be bumped but I would never go that route again. Good luck and let me know if you need an idea on loads closer to the time

When you look at the non rev list leaving GUM to HNL, you will want to cry. Most of the time, they are packed tight with a long non-rev listing. True it may depend on the months or times you travel, but for the most part, its a teeth pulling way to go. Especially for other airline folks. Also, leaving HNL to Conus can be tight too. Sometimes even tighter than GUM/HNL. Truthfully, for you, I'd go to Japan however way you can and then try JAL to Gum. I've done those routes many more times than I'd like but I find the best way for me to go is via NRT with CO since its a straight shot from IAH where I work. Then I fly AIR MICRONESIA to GUM. Much easier. I avoid HNL like the plague. I did come back through that way last time only because MNL to NRT was overbooked and had no choice, and barely made it out of GUM and HNL by like a seat or two. You may get to HNL and find you get stuck there for a long time. Or GUM and get stuck there for a long time. Kind of risky. It's a tough commodity there for non-revs even working FOR the airlines. I'ts like trying to get to DENVER as a non-rev. Packed to the rafters 90 percent of the time or more. The ISLAND HOPPER as the TWIG mentions is good if you want to experience the backwoods of the pacific islands but to get to HNL is really not the way to do it. How would you like to get stranded on CHUUK because of weight limitations from hauling back a bunch of fish? I worked for Air Micronesia so I know all about it.
