    Looks like a tsunami hit that island pretty good. I learned through the Saipan tribune that they did issue a tsunami warning for about 30 minutes there. "A tsunami warning was raised in the CNMI at 7:45am yesterday but this was soon cancelled at 8:15am". I can visualize a mass movement to Mount Tapagchao. I wonder how many people said "F it and stood on the beach waiting for the end of the world as they did in Hawaii, New Zealand. Some people really do have a death wish..

    I have friends and family in American Samoa. They barely got to high ground in time. The warnings were scarce.
    Nobody was standing around waiting for " the end". Friends of ours lost people over in Western Samoa.

    Yes. In islands out there everybody knows everybody so it really hits home when something like this happens. Samoa didn't have a chance, the quake happened too close to it for warning. But other islands far away had hours to prepare. Hope all turns out all right in Samoa.
