Depending on where you are staying, you might be able to get a good deal on air & hotel packages by dealing with a Tahiti based travel agent. I believe Costco Travel agency does packages as well for Tahiti. French Polynesia is one of the few places where you get a better deal thru a travel agent than trying to book everything separately on your own.

Bora Bora is the ultimate goal. Looking at IC, St Regis, or 4 seasons.

Hmm the St Regis, well if you’re looking for luxury, take a look at mrs767er's favorite site World's Best 5 Star Hotels & Resorts. It has a couple of Bora Bora properties with some really nice luxury extras. M7 can help you get started.

Edited to add mrs767er link http://nonrev.net/specialty-travel/1...ty-travel.html

I stayed at the IC Thalasso in an Overwater Bungalow. Can't compare it to the St Regis or 4 Seasons but that said, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Thalasso. If you go the IC route, I would look into purchasing Ambassador status or even better Royal Ambassador Status. You can purchase Ambassador status directly from IC but for RA status, you would need to look on someplace like ebay. I used a Tahiti based travel agency and got a much better rate that included breakfast & dinner than if I were to book everything on my own.
