    Default BA Strike

Looks like this time there will be a strike.

"The union representing British Airways cabin crew has said its members will go on strike for three days from 20 March and for four days from 27 March."

Hmm. Unrest at AA, now at BA. All in the same month. Who's next?

I'm guessing this is a redo from the strike vote made back in December, which was nixed by the court because of a technicality. That one made me able to get home from Spain a few days earlier, though, since I was set to fly out when BA was supposed to strike.

Don't forget LH last month and then there are the constant strikes in France.

    Spongebue,
How did the planned strike make you able to get home earlier? I'm looking at non-revving home from Spain next week, right in-between the reported strike dates and I'm wondering what kind of effects the BA disruptions might have on my ability to get to the US. (Looking mainly at getting to DFW, MIA or ATL on American or Delta.) Just curious what your experience was.

I think the employees of a lot of airlines have taken cut after cut in pay and benefits over the last few years. Now that the industry is (sort of) recovering, they feel that some of those cuts should be reversed yet the companies continue to tighten their belt to achieve higher profits. Strike talk is inevitable in that situation. I hope it doesn't come to that but I certainly understand the frustration.
