Please tell me not to worry. I had planned a non-rev trip from IAD to FRA to CAI for August 11th.
Please someone tell me good news. My son has been a study abroad student there since January and is really looking forward to me visting.
They have 12 days to sort this thing out before I leave. I really have to go, my son would be devastated if I don't come.
what other options do you have with your airlines?
Keeping mind that a strike is a strike and if they aren't flying, you aren't flying--don't stress--find solutions!

I am scurrying for options now.
Most other options are costly. I am meeting up with one of my buddies today and we are going to discuss my plans. He can be quite helpful.

1) Please do not worry.
2) There is good news: there may not be a strike
Now, I am being extremely flippant. Quite so.

Good luck with your travels. I sincerely do mean that. I hope you get to see your son. Egypt is fascinating; I've been twice and would have been happy to assist if I could.

i would not worry too much about your flights
the strike is over
some flights are still cancelled because a/c checks could not be done because of the strike
but untill the 11th everything should be back to normal

Another successful non-rev adventure. Flights were overbooked on return, still made it on.
