I've never flown interline other than on my own airline - so if I have stupid questions please forgive me!!

I want to go to Mexico (PVR) for 3 or 4 days near the end of February. We have an interline agreement with Alaska Air for stand-by travel. Does anyone know what the availability is like then? Is there any other way of getting there cheaply through any interlines? I can't find anywhere that offers flight and hotel packages for airline employees.

I'm in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and I work for WestJet Airlines.

    Thanks!!

I would think Feb would be high season for Mexico as it is in the Caribbean.

I've heard that some of the discount carriers are going into Mexico now but am not sure if PVR is one of their destinations. If so, you might could nonrev to one of their hubs and then get a cheap fare into PVR.

Please check The Nonrev Network hotel page at <a href="http://www.nonrev.net/hotel.htm" target="_blank">http://www.nonrev.net/hotel.htm</A> . If you don't find a good price there, go to The Nonrev Portal's agencies page at <a href="http://www.nonrev.net/portal/agencies.htm" target="_blank">http://www.nonrev.net/portal/agencies.htm</A> . This is where we list all of the interline agencies. I'm sure some have some good all inclusive resort deals in PVR.

Please let me know if you find any broken links in the Portal. I need to update

I fly LAX - PVR nonrev on AS sometimes (I'm going again tomorrow), and these flights usually aren't completely full except on holiday weekends. What dates did you want to travel, and from what city on AS ?

Chris, I'm confused by the split in the two forums "North America" and "Caribbean". Where do we draw the border line for the purposes of this forum?

I thought that Caribbean would only include the islands and countries south and east of Florida.

Mexico is in North America, and PVR is on the west coast so I wouldn't consider it 'Caribbean', would you?

    Hi Skybabe,

Does your airline have an interline agreement with HP? We fly between both YYC and PVR (with a connection).

I checked our agreement list, and don't see WS...but maybe one is in the works.

    Bikerscooby,

The Caribbean is "An arm of the western Atlantic Ocean bounded by the coasts of Central and South America and the West Indies."

Your correct PVR or anything on the Mexican Pacific Coast are NOT Caribbean. So I wasn't thinking too good when PVR was mentioned above. However, the east side of the Yucatan peninsula (Cancun, Cozumel) is Caribbean.

Technically, the CARIBBEAN also is found along the coast of Central America from Mexico down to Panama, except for El Salvador (Since el Salvador is only on the Pacific coast.) Even Venezuela and Colombia have a Caribbean coast. They are in SOUTH AMERICA. We normally call Central America "Central America" and refer to the Caribbean as those islands on the Caribbean Sea. Mexico is part of North America but they like to use that "Caribbean" word to describe Cozumel, Cancun as a sunny and warm destination, which it truly is. Other islands in the Caribbean but off countries of Central America are the ROATAN off of Honduras, SAN BLAS islands of Panama, Cozumel off of Mexico, Corn Islands off of Nicaragua. Aruba is just off the coast of Venezuela too.
