I'm intrigued by this... what kind of positions at FedEx get nonrev abilities? What kinds of fares are you charged, some kind of ZED?

Sorry for the delays. Thanks for the help everybody. Based on DeltaFlyers help, I am going to simply go for the earliest MEM-SEA flight with hopes of getting it and if not, hope I can get out via SLC or MSP.
I will probably need to ask this on a different board (new at this) but does anyone know (or can offer an opinion) the best days to do this? I would think Tues and Wed would be best and stay away from Sunday and Monday. But what do I know!
Sponge: I think this is a pretty new thing for FX and Delta and it wasn't communicated very well. We happened upon it. It is $50 OW or $100RT Domestic plus all the fees. I think it's available to all EXPRESS employees.
Please forgive me, but what is ZED?
I'm sure it is some sort of fare designation, but we carry boxes!

    Thanks again

tdrehm, I'd double check that you can fly sea-geg on DL. I'm pretty sure it is only Horizon that delta codeshares with on that route. You'll be stuck in SEA if that's the case

ZED is a pricing system for non-rev tickets that is based on the distance of your flights. It sounds like DL is giving you guys a flat service charge, which is nice and simple. I'd think it also helps your chances of being allowed to go through any city as long as your origin and destination are the same.

DL is the best Non_Rev travel system in the industry!!! period!.... If you are using FedEx on DL your priority will be low so Plan on taking early flights and allow yourself enough time to get to your destination, often you will have to wait for the next flight.....

    Good luck!

Reminds me of a story. We had (maybe do... who knows) an agreement with FedEx for packages. The facility in MEL is quite far away in a suburb called Derimut. My old ticket companion lived in LHR so this used to be the cheapest and most secure way of sending paper tickets to her (why they couldn't just be printed at LHR is another story... as is why are we still using paper tickets). I'd sent some a few weeks earlier then showed up again and got told our agreement with Fedex was suspended. Emails back and forth with HKG and it was confirmed it was suspended, then decided it wasn't.... not really sure where it stands right now.

Suffice to say I haven't been back to Derrimut... but the next tickets I sent via Australia Post were lost by Royal Mail when they got to the UK. What luck!
