    Default what's "HK"?

what does "HK" mean on the standby list? I realize they're revenue customers, but where do they come from? Is there any way to predict how many "HK" passengers are going to show up at the last minute?

I'm a relatively new (Aug 2010) DL employee, and haven't done a lot of pass travel...any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

unassigned seats, misconnects, inconvenienced rev pax, OAL cancellations and rarely an employee who couldn't get standby on multiple flights to commute for same day duty.
There is no way to figure HKs until they are on board and out of our nonrev hair!! then we can fly...
welcome to DL and hope we can help if you need it.

Thanks so much for the quick reply! I'm trying to take my daughter to London next week, where she'll stay with my sister and her husband. I'm going to turn around and come home, then go back and get her the following week. Another quick question: I recall hearing someone say that nonrevs wouldn't be allowed to fly in the new lie-flat seats, yet it seems like perhaps they are (?) What's the skinny on that? I understand their reasoning, if it's true...

Do you realize it's $115 LGW and $140 LHR each time you turn around plus her same fees? You get flatbeds if avialable for your DOH/ active emp DL status etc. Loads have been monstrous. What's your daughter's age? Can she fly unaccompanied minor? It's just OAL's (otehr airline) that can't upgrade. DL is very good at providing employees with great privileges. You can have her taken care of by crew members( and they do it well on overseas flts) and your sister can arrange to meet her at the arrivals area. She can also go with her to the gate with pre-approval as UM.

yes...I'm aware of the taxes...my sister arrives in Gatwick via Sun Country from MSP about a half hour after the Delta flight. I'm more concerned about my sister figuring out how to find my daughter. I enjoy flying, and the extra $$ is worth it for this dad's peace of mind. Plus...it'll be my first time back in England since 1979...

thanks again for your prompt reply

I was under the impression your sister lived there. Anyway--is it workable to have your daughter come back as unaccompanied minor? You can bet she'll have a better seat than she'd get on Sun Country!! BTW--how old is she? Is she returning the same time as your sister and her spouse?
1979 is about the last time I went--or 80-something to see the beau I met in Grand Cayman...ah, the olden days...NAH I had to buy tickets then!

well...my sister's husband is from England, but they live here in Minnesota. They're going over for a month-long visit, and my daughter is joining them for the first week. My daughter is going to babysit my sister's three little kids. They're staying with friends who live near the beach in southern England. My daughter is 16 (help!), and could probably return home on her own, but if something were to happen where she couldn't get on her flight, there'd be no one at the airport with her. Plus, when I go back to get her, we'll be spending the night at a hotel near LHR, and I'm looking forward to going into London that afternoon and showing my daughter where I used to live (went to school in London for my sophomore year of college). Spendy for the travel, I know...but it's a great opportunity for my daughter to spend a week in England--free room and board in exchange for some light babysitting duties.

Now...if I could only figure out where to send my boys during that week...lol

I certainly hope you both get the flatbeds--if she's never done the la di da Biz Elite on DL, she'll remember it forever! Sweet!
PS--you can now check-in online and print your seat request 24 hrs in advance [if you've never done that before]. Obviously you'll burn some S2s...Good luck!
