I'd go MSP or DTW--747 and 777
The cost difference is probably minimal--like $50RT as opposed to west coast connections. Loads are usually better and more biz seats.
Avoid HNL
Is Haneda better than NRT for you? We also have Nagoya.
I would estimate $600 ballpark--please let us know what you end up paying.
